Approach and Cultural Stories
Hollókõ is known for its beautiful rural buildings, traditional objects, and preserved natural surrounding. However, as important are the living traditions of the village and its people such as the cherished traditional crafts that are deeply embedded in the community and the social interactions of its members.
We think that it is important to communicate the meaning of productive activities for the social live in a small community. Therefore, we have decided to tell visitors to the village as well as on the World Wide Web the story of different crafts, traditions, living stories and the role of the social live of the village.
The virtual tour will offer three trails or stories:
- Stories of lady Piroska: explanation of old traditions and stories focusing on courtships, proposals, daily routines
- Stories of lady Erzsébet: explanation of old traditions and stories focusing on the built heritage and the crafts in connection with the clothes
- Stories of local children: introduction of the present life of the village and introduction of historical facts about the village.
We plan to make the virtual guide available on the Web and a DVD, and besides images and descriptive texts the stories will also present video sequences.
