Explore and Share Cultural Experiences with Interactive Media

Interactive media provide many opportunities to present, and promote a dialogue about, particular features and rich layers of meaning beyond what visitors and tourists, and even many residents, typically perceive and experience of a cultural heritage site. The HERITAGE ALIVE! partner sites want to benefit from these opportunities and share their experiences with other sites in the CADSES region and beyond. Within the project different pilot actions at six sites are carried out which concentrate on virtual tour guides and learning quests.

Virtual Tour Guides

A virtual tour guide is an application that allows users to take a look behind the façade of a heritage site and discover what makes heritage alive. The multimedia based application can be a website, a mobile device or any other tool that can serve as a virtual guide. Typically such a guide will offer different entry points and trails to explore unique aspects of the heritage site.

Learning Quests

Learning quests focus on raising cultural awareness and participation of the local population and visitors. Members of the local community are involved in the planning and creation of the learning quests. Learning quests will offer a more playful, discovery or even adventure-like way of learning about the historical sites.
